As part of its commitment to the ecological transition, Camping San Damiano is taking steps to improve its environmental performance.

Our commitments

Carbon footprint

Mandatory only for companies with more than 500 employees, San Damiano campsite has voluntarily decided to draw up its carbon footprint. A comprehensive tool, it will enable us to make the best decisions in terms of preserving the environment. Now that we know where our CO2 emissions come from, we're doing everything we can to offer you a holiday that's kind to the planet.

Eco-responsible charter

In partnership with the tourist office, local managers and accommodation professionals, we have drawn up a 68-article charter which can be consulted here.
Camping San Damiano is committed to ratifying at least 70% of the articles, with biennial monitoring by the tourist office.

Our actions

Waste management

Don't miss out on waste recycling. The San Damiano team has done everything possible to simplify the task for you:
Sorting bins are available: yellow for packaging, green for glass. Colour-coded containers are available at the collection point.
A single, fully equipped waste collection point opposite reception. Sorting table, signpost, washbasin, sorting staff to welcome and guide you.
There is always a black bin for waste that unfortunately cannot be recycled: (nappies, sponges, used tissues, etc.)
For composting, whatever your type of accommodation, a solution is provided. Reusable buckets or compostable bags are available to carry your food scraps to the brown bio-waste containers at the collection point. You can also put them in the rotating composters located near the toilet blocks.

Collecting cigarette butts

A little-known environmental issue for the general public, cigarette butts are the most common type of waste at sea (40%).
So we're particularly keen to combat this pollution.
In partnership with the Corsican company E collect, you'll find our 7 recycling bins dotted around the campsite.
Every month, these cigarette butts are collected and converted into energy.

Water and energy management in the sanitary block

• Installation of thermal solar panels on the roof, which alone produce more than half of the domestic hot water in the main block.
• Movement detection taps to limit water wastage.
• Recovery of grey water from showers to supply (after filtration and treatment) the toilet flushes.

Environmentally-friendly cleaning

• Use of eco-labelled or ecocert products for cleaning communal areas and bungalows.
• Installation of washable and reusable equipment in compliance with health standards (sponges, cloths).
• Installation of pumps for dispensing household products so that only the necessary quantities are used.

Vegetation at San Damiano

At San Damiano campsite, we also take care of our ecosystem.
• Re-planting endemic plants to maintain biodiversity.
• Monitoring the proliferation of witches' claws (an invasive species which, in moderate quantities, supports the dunes and prevents soil erosion).
• Optimising existing buildings to avoid new construction.
